Skyfall-Bond

Postby Fugitive » 24 Feb 2013, 09:04

Have you seen Skyfall yet? It is a magnificant Bond film. From the opening scene, thirteen minutes of pure joy, to when the opening credits come up and Adele sings, and two hours fourteen minutes to the end it is magical.

Adele manages to hit some Shirley Bassey notes from her 'Diamonds are Forever' as she sings the Bond theme song and the original Bond theme kicks in during the film making the hairs on the back of the neck stand up! Especially when the original Aston Martin appears - we all cheered!

Scenes set in Istambul, Shanghai, London and Scotland are so exciting. The villain, Javren Bardem (swoon) is up there with the greats. I bet there isn't one single frame from the film that wouldn't make the perfect photo.

We watched it on daughter's big screen TV so can only imagine what an experience it was seeing it in the cinema.

Daniel Craig is the best ever Bond!

About five minutes of any Bond film is the limit of my endurance. :( Fully agree about Adele, lots of super girl singers but I do not put her amongst them.

I can't get past Sean Connery as the best ever Bond so will have to disagree with you there Fugi ;)

I love all his Bond films....I can't say I have seen any DC ones, only clips, so will have to reserve judgement until I see it. Adele has a superb voice, however, very strong, although I do wish she wouldn't sing it as "Skyfaaoowwwwlllll"

John and the boys saw it at the cinema and raved about it so I bought them the DVD. I've not watched it as I'm not a Bond fan, although I did watch what I think was the first Daniel Craig one, Casino Royale possibly, and thought it was fantastic. They all enjoyed watching Skyfall again the other night though I had my fingers in my ears when Adele started warbling. Can't stand the woman!

I rarely watch a James Bond film.

I was put off when I read one of the James Bond novels many years ago, and I didn't like his style at all.
I suppose it was because the principal character was too chauvinistic, and I consider that to be in bad
taste - but I'm funny that way.

So there's Di and there Jo's Men who get it?

Di you'll love it then. It is amazing (did I already say that?) and it does have to be seen again.

My eighteen year old Grandson spent over an hour chatting with me about Skyfall - and every Bond film ever made! Before he saw Skyfall he watched four of his favourite Bond's back-to-back to get with it again. He has seen every Bond film made and loves them. We talked about the scenes, our favourite Bonds, Q's gadgets, Moneypenny, M, best villains, locations, he knows more than I do about Bond films and I've seen them all as well.

He even knows how far into Bond films to go until a boring bit so he can stop it and have a wee! Bond Geek? Erm! Sounds like it! :ugeek:
