Flu jab

Postby Workingman » 04 Dec 2016, 13:18

I had my annual jab on Friday and it has knocked me for six shivering, sneezing, and when I cough it is like whooping cough.

This is the first time ever a jab has affected me like this one has, so it is some soup and back to bed for me.

Now this is why I always dodge it, despite qualifying  I know they say the vaccine isn't live, so you can't get flu from the jab, but lots people seem to get ill after having it :?

Hope you feel better soon xxx

Its because if your body is already fighting something brewing, then you give it the flu jab to fight, it throws everything behind the flu jab and you succumb to what you were incubating.

The flu jab cannot give you flu. I actually found this years much kinder on my arm too, not achey like usual the next day

Another tip, stand up to have it, if you arm is dangling and relaxed it is less likely to make it ache than if your arm is tense

Aw Frank that's a shame. I have to pay for it, but I had one a few weeks ago, no ill effects, nor had Tom (although he gets his free as he works with vulnerable people) It's the first time I've ever had it, having had a months long chest infection (still not 100%) I don't want to be a victim of a flu bug as well.

Hope you feel better soon.

I was told the same as MM says - it is a FLU jab, not a cold one, so you'll still be prone to colds, unfortunately.

Yes, I think it is just a cold and a coincidence, and as I am only just over that winter vomiting bug my immune system is a bit low.

I have had a good afternoon nap and I need food.

Gal another year when you haven't been poorly so it's not so important, if you can hang on until the mad rush has died down, your surgery will probably give you a flu jab for free because they will have stock over

This year was, I think, the first year Mrs O and I had a negative reaction to the flu-jab - nothing serious, but we just ached for days!

I worked at GSK, the producer of the vaccine. You get it "free" when you work at GSK. You also get it early, like before they are ready to ship it. Two of the guys had irritated armpits where they could not spray deodorant. 60% of the office went down with horrendous colds and one girl broke two ribs coughing.

I didn't have one, never do, but the horrendous illnesses the jab takers came down with spread all over the place.

I don't care what they say. I will never _ever_ believe that the virus is totally 100% dead and dormant. I have too much experience of the consequences to believe it.
