Jo.....

I had the oddest dream last night...

A friend and I (can't remember though who I was with but it wasn't Nadine) were heading to B'ham to the Christmas Market. Got to the station and realised that the market was about 20 mins walk from town, so we followed a huge stream of people heading that way. Got there and we had to pay entrance, £45 per adult or £80 for two adults. But if you were a family (ie two adults and 2 kids) then it was a total of £47 only. So we just waited until we found two kids to take with us to get the cheaper tickets ... cant' remember much more of the dream but remember thnking £47 to be a rather odd amount....

And I remember muttering the whole way through that "Jo didn't tell us we'd have to pay!!!!" "Jo didn't tell us we'd have to walk this far"

Should've put this on a private board, don't want the city council getting any ideas about charging admission ;)

What an odd dream.

We went to Birmingham on Sunday afternoon, to see the Spanish Horses, which were fantastic, but we had to struggle through the crowds in the Christmas Market afterwards to get to the railway station. I've never seen so many people - it took us ages to get though.

It can be a real struggle can't it Aggers. I sometimes pop for a look on a weekday and it's not so bad but we always have a family trip there so are limited as to when the four of us can all get together. The last couple of years we've left going until just before Christmas, I think last year it was the night before it closed for the year, and it's much more manageable plus a lot of things are reduced!

Nadine and I are allowing just under 6 hours for a mooch around the market, something to eat and then fight our way back to the station... Hopefully that will be enough time

And good to hear there is no charge

Ria, if you want somewhere to eat away from the crowds it's not a million miles away from pub we were in last meet up and The Old Joint Stock is even nearer.

I thought that the market was in Victoria Square and New St. If so the Briar Rose would be nearer to the market and station than the OJS.

Ria has stagge... err, walked the route many times. :P :P :P :o ;)
