Unbalance society

Postby Suff » 18 Aug 2016, 13:44

I was reading the Independent article on our opportunity "divide" in the UK between the races.

I must admit I was quite pleased to see just how far we've come in the time of my life. Those % numbers are very close in many areas. The place where there is a 50% gap for Blacks, University, is something that comes from heritage rather than from our lack of opportunity, well in my opinion. Many second generation blacks come from families out of Africa who had little education. It takes time for the UK attitude to further education to filter through. This is borne out by the Asian score which was higher than the white and reflects the cultural attitude to further education endemic in Asia.

The only area I was extremely annoyed with was the "hate crime" figures. Here in Scotland they are sending officers on special training to "recognise" instances of "hate crime".

Why would they have to send them on training? Because neither you nor I would actually recognise what they are calling hate crime today. Let us say, for instance, that one of my Black friends ( I have quite a few), was being particularly stupid about something which needed to be done. I'd probably say laughingly "get your ass out of the way you dozy idiot and I'll do it". However if I were to say "get your black ass out of the way you dozy idiot" and someone else, standing by were to hear it and take exception to it, that would be reported and prosecuted as hate crime. Even though the person to whom the remark had been directed would have no issue with it and had taken no offense. My black friends refer to themselves as black and me as white. They would have no issue with saying "get your white ass ......" any more than they would have issues with me using black.

But in the realms of race and hate crime there is no common sense or any sense at all. So they actually have to train police officers to suspend any belief in anything making sense so they can prosecute "offenses".

This is why the instances of so called "hate crimes" are going up rapidly.

I was going to start a similar thread because of the way the EHRC and the media are presenting this report.

Using words and phrases such as racial inequality being 'entrenched' and 'deep-rooted' in Britain are unhelpful. The implication is that the UK is racist to the core. Raw statistics are being used to 'prove' the point that we whites are racists and that racism is a white phenomenon. Then again, that is the EHCR's remit, so no surprise.

As a percentage more blacks are murdered than whites, but who is murdering them? No mention of that. There is a lot of evidence that black-on-black murders are more prevalent than white-on-black or white-on white murders, so a skewed result occurs.

BEMs are more likely to be unemployed. A report this week showed that Moslem women are the least likely to be employed. That must be down to us indigenous Brits, it has to be. It could not possibly be down to their cultural and religious beliefs, could it?

Hate crimes are up. Could that possibly be that BEMs are using the race card more often, for their own ends, and that we Brits cannot be bothered to report the same in reverse?

I often visit an 'Asian' supermarket for my spices and sauces. The only white face is a Bosnian female wearing a scarf, everyone else is male and, from their accents, not British. Should the EHRC force 'diversity' on this establishment? Should there be so many whites, Christians, women in Tee shirts working there? Hell No! When I ask about white, brown or black mustard seeds I want someone who knows what they use at home and for which recipes.

I do not want positive discrimination (still discrimination) and quotas. If that makes me an entrenched and deep-rooted racist, so be it.

I really shouldn't join in this discussion, as I am aware that my views are a bit 'way out'.

But I'll say this...
When I was a schoolboy, we were told that black people lived in Africa, brown people in Asia, and yellow people China,
and I never saw anyone in those categories until I was well into my teens. Now, these 'facts' that one takes on board in
childhood become embedded in one's brain and, although I know it is wrong, even today if I see any of these 'coloured'
people my unconscious thought is, 'They shouldn't be here'. Naturally, I have learned to disregard these ingrained ideas,
yet they insist on recurring on occasions - such as when I saw an MP in a turban. Never-the-less, I do honestly think that
'we' have made a mistake in allowing so many 'foreigners' to become part of our society, and I do fear that the resulting
consequences in the future may prove to be unpleasant. Let us hope that Enoch Powell was wrong.

Not so much in allowing them to come over here Aggers. More in the fact that we allowed them to change our own society without them having to change to become part of it.

THAT, for me, is the biggest problem. I also grew up in an area which had few of these racial differences. However I did spend 3 years in Cyprus when my father was posted there. The Racism there, from every corner to every other corner, would put people in Prison today. Much of that racism still exists outside of the UK and the EU and is imported all the time then nothing is done about it when it is imported.

All they do is tell US how bad WE are.

That sums it up most succinctly, Suff.

Thank you Nanna. x

Suff is right, and I would also add this: The book learned wonks who produce these reports could do with a minimum six-month stint living and working in other parts of the world. They will definitely find that the UK is one of the most welcoming places on the planet to minorities of any kind.
