Prince Charles and Cammila

Postby Kate1933 » 08 Aug 2016, 08:55

Has anyone followed the story of Charles and Camilla's believed to be supposed son who is making headlines and a claim to his place on the throne.,
He and his wife have a huge family of children, he was adopted by the couple who worked for the Royal family who went to Australia to live following the child's birth who I believe was born there. Interesting reading, poor Di never stood a chance she carried out her duty and produced two sons.and her job was done, a life of misery followed her to her death.

It is an old story that keeps cropping up on slow news days. It does not even move an ardent Republican like myself one jot.

Royals are mere mortals and as such are open to temptation like the rest of us - it is the nature of the beast. Anyway, since Victoria's time, protocol has it that Royal bastards are not given titles or allowed to attend Court. Even if a DNA test proved to be 99.99% certain that this man was Charles' offspring he would still be plain old Mr as far as the Royal line is concerned.

What I find sad is that Charles had no love for Diana whatsoever, my late husband did not feel the sympathy for her that I did throughout her short life. I remember another small Royal was placed in a institution, he was supposedly mentally handicapped he did not appear to be so from what I saw of him in a documentary some years ago..

Oh goodness that sounds like hooey to me, I'm afraid ;) It would be easily proven by DNA testing if it were true, but he would still have no claim as they weren't married at the time ;)

I loved Diana, but I doubt very much she was an easy person to be married to, and I feel that Charles should have married Camilla in the first place, so am glad they are finally married. PC seems very happy and relaxed these days, the boys seem to like Camilla and get on with her, so that's good enough for me ;)

I think I saw that! He was the son of Queen Mary and George V, I think, so it was a very, very, long time ago. To be fair most families in those days, rich or poor, put handicapped children away, didn't they? Prince John, I think, and if I remember correctly I think he lived in a small cottage on the Windsor estate with his nanny, but died very young? Epilepsy most likely, or maybe he was another descendant of Victoria unlucky enough to get the haemophilia that came down through her, like the little Tsarevitch of Russia, and Victoria's own son Leopold?

The Olympics must be a real bust for them to be trotting stuff out like this.

Even if it were true I believe they were both single at the time and any conception out of wedlock does not, by royal decree, stand in line in the succession.

End of discussion as far as I'm concerned and I'm of the same opinion as you Kaz. Charles is much more relaxed and approachable as a person and that has to be a good thing for someone who will, almost certainly, be King within 15 years.

At this point I simply turn off and ignore the articles.

I firmly believe that if Charles had been allowed to marry Camilla in the first place, they would still be happily married today. Yes I agree that he seems much more contented now and I really like what I have seen of Camilla, they are entitled to some happiness.

Charles and Diana should never have been made to marry, he was as much a victim of a rigid system as she was. She certainly became this glamorous icon but she also became increasingly more manipulative and flaky as time went on and her affair with Dodi Fayed was very ill judged. At least Prince William has been able to marry who he wanted and lead as near a normal married life as somebody in his position can.

As for that story about the so-called son, that does the rounds every few years and to be honest, does anyone care.

I am sure there are many skeletons in the royal cupboard including the suspiciously convenient Mort de Diana. If we are going to keep the anachronism it is probably best they stay there.

It doesn't sell newsprint though does it... What interests me most is that, with the Olympics on, the press should have more than enough to bush themselves with.

Which means to me that the Olympics are somewhat tarnished.

I may be wrong but Charles could have married Camilla. He just left it too long and she married someone else. He has only himself to blame but Diana paid he price along with him.

wasn't Camilla a Catholic? I think a great many of us grieved for Diana and the children,
the marriage was doomed from day one.
