Good morning.

August heat rages on.

Going for a wee run then back for coffee and to check my emails - I forgot yesterday!

Don & I are going to Torremolinos mid morning for a mooch in Dealz (I need salad cream! ) and then a stroll along the coast followed by lunch at our favourite chiringuito.

No doubt I'll find an hour or two to zone out by the pool.

Shouty TV tonight.

Another cool morning - hot and hotter later very different climate to the Algarve, but much prefer it.

Nelson here vacuuming the pool and we'll be able to use it this afternoon

Off to Castro Verde this morning, the market, you know To buy seat cushions, plants, trees - hopefully - and then back to painting for Grumpy and pool for me

Dinner out at the bar tonight. We've been invited by Antonia - she of the gorgeous pup Bagheira - for the local speciality, cooked by Odette of duck and rice. Should be fun

Well it's cloudy here! Not raining though, so fingers crossed! I'm seeing my client again this morning, then will make my way home via Morrisons, as I can get off the bus there and walk home instead of having to get it all the way into town Might be going to zumba again tonight, not sure yet!

Work for me as usual - but on my own admin wise; receptionist is off sick (again!) and colleague is on hols. Oh well; it's quiet enough

Morning all

Dull and overcast here.

We go through loads of salad cream at this time of year Ally, it's a must in this house, much prefer it to mayonnaise.

The cinema was packed yesterday, not surprised really, think everyone was keen to see Matt Damon back as Bourne. We really enjoyed it, came out feeling the franchise is well and truly back on track.

Steve's busy finishing off the plaster boarding in our bedroom, then it all needs skimming, he'll be busy in there most of this week. We're quite comfortable in the spare room for the time being, it feels like we're camping, but at least it's our bed. All the spare room stuff is still stacked high in the extension and everything else, including this pc, is crammed into the lounge.

Was planning to do coffee this morning, but think I'll give it a miss this week, we really need to go food shopping.

It's quite a pleasant morning here, and we've done a bit of shopping at our local store.

Afternoon
It's lovely here, after a very grey and damp start, but a ferocious wind!

I've been making very good use of a metal crochet hook
Bb bought me a lovely pink fountain pen for my birthday, and it came with lovely bright pink cartridges.
Well, the first one was mostly wasted trying to get the damned ink out of it, so I went online and found several people - and indeed pen companies - who said with the little dinky cartridges, you out one in the wrong way round, followed by one the right way, so it fills the barrel better.
Made sense, so in one went - and promptly got completely stuck once I added the second
It's been there about 3 weeks with me failing to get it out. So today I got a metal crochet hook, which hallelujah was thin enough to get in, stab the cartridge and yank it out - eventually

Next job was hoovering, but first needed to get Minnie's hairs out of the brushes - our permanent nightmare, it doesn't matter how good the vacuum cleaner is, same problem. And again it was the metal crochet hook that came to the rescue!
It still took about half an hour, but I did it without having to unscrew the base this time
My day has just been all too exciting
