The bloody audacity of these people!

Conservative peer Baroness Wheatcroft (who?) has said the Lords could delay Article 50. A legal challenge on whether the government can trigger A50 without going through Parliament is being heard later this year.

She says: "However, if it comes to a bill, I think the Lords might actually delay things. I think there's a majority in the Lords for remaining."

Excuse me, madam, but the Lords is an unelected collection of political has-beens and friends of the Elite, with a few Bishops thrown in. It does not matter a damn if every one of you is for remaining, the referendum was a vote by the people and the people voted to leave.

She also adds: "And I would hope, while we delayed things, that there would be sufficient movement in the EU to justify putting it to the electorate, either through a general election or a second referendum."

Oh she does, does she. Well I think that the majority who voted to leave would think differently, as will many of us who voted to remain. They might go further and think that it is time to remove their Lords and Ladies from the House and set it up in a new form, one that reflects the wishes of the electorate and not those of the chosen few.

I heard her interview. I think it's fortunate that only May can trigger A50 and nobody can stop her from doing it. Although if the Queen were to ask her to take a bit more time I'm sure she wouldn't say no.

This is the problem with an unelected second chamber who don't care about the consequences of what they do. Most of the time it's a good thing. But, every once in a while, it is a good reminder as to why they are independent... Even if you roundly despise them for it.

On the voting to rid the country of the HOL, who would you vote for? Labour? Vote them in and you'd have a second referendum in a trice. Lib Dems? Even faster. UKIP? Not sure they are anti HOL anyway.

This is one of those times where the very safeguards we need in government mitigate against the will of the people.

Let them bump their gums. In the end they won't be asked. Arrogant idiots who think they can do that to the people without their parties in the Commons being massacred.

Those who understand Binary and those who do not.
