No you just need the courgettes, then use the slicer on the grater :) It's certainly a lot nicer than gluten free pasta, which is horrid

I bought a spiraliser from Amazon a few months ago, it's used most days with courgettes, carrots and sweet potatoes (or all three). Love it :D

Thanks WM - I'll see what she's like when they come over.

I know Tonicha is looking forward to my shepherds pie, so that's one or two nights sorted. And we'll be going out for the chicken, chips, rice and salad    a couple of times too.

All the restuarants we use, she should have no problem at all - just steer clear of the bread and olives 8-)

Yes, I didn't think Ton had much chance of getting a spiraliser in rural Portugal though :D ;)

Was looking for a rice cooker earlier - not a chance  Although I may find one in the many Chinese shops we have here.

This gas is different from the one in Fuzeta, much fiercer and I keep making stodgy rice - never had a problem before.

My old steamer had a rice thingy, but this new one didn't

We've been gluten free this year for G. (And dairy, tomato, oats, barley, corn and sugar free).

Gluten hides often in sauces and liquid yummy stuff like malt vinegar (but other vinegars are fine) fish sauce, stocks, pasta, crackers (rice crackers ok, but check label as often hides in the flavouring), breakfast cereals.

I find breakfast the hardest to cater for.
Everything happens for a reason

Ton try doing rice in the microwave; rinse then cook as usual, same timings.
We had to, at Bb's flat, it's a pretty good way of doing it - and doesn't make the kitchen hot :)
