It was nice of you to bother Osc, when so much was going on, and good to know he's getting a letter too :)
Good for you Ally and Jo too, I'm another who tries to always thank people, and companies; in fact on my list for tomorrow is a thank you email.

Osc - It was lovely to read this thread.

We often complain about people, but it makes a welcome change to hear about those who
can be so kind and helpful in times of trouble. It was also nice of you to thank the kind man
who assisted you.

I've just had a really lovely email back from Sainsburys replying to one that I sent about the great customer service we received on Saturday evening.

Thanks for dropping us an email to thank colleagues in our Cannock store for their service they provided you. I'm delighted to hear that they assisted you in such a way to ensure that everything was perfect for you both.

We're really proud of our colleagues, and dedicate a great deal of time to making sure that they get the best training and the best working environment. We love to receive feedback like yours as it shows us the hard work of our colleagues is worthwhile.

I've shared your kind comments with Jenny, an assistant on the Tu Clothing and I've forwarded your email to the store manager to ensure that the team get the recognition they deserve.

Thanks again for sharing your feedback with us.

To balance that out though I'm waiting for replies to complaints I made to Asda and Next :P
I went into Next in the Bullring with Joe on Sunday, there was a hoodie he wanted that he'd seen in there a couple of weeks ago. We went in and all we could see was sale stock. There was a screen which we used to check stock and it told us that there were 4 medium and 1 small in store in the style that Joe wanted so I asked a nearby assistant if she could take us to where they were. We followed her and at one point she said "I don't know where they are" and a moment later she stopped and started chatting to a colleague, in a language I didn't recognise. We stood there and to be honest I wasn't sure if she was still helping us or if she'd started a private conversation with this other assistant, we couldn't understand what they were saying. Anyway, after a few moments the man looked at us and said, really abruptly, "No full price, no full price. Only sale!" and then carried on with what he was doing. The woman then said that they might have them out on the shop floor the next day but it depended on how well the sale items sold. I asked if perhaps she could get one from the stock room and she said that she didn't think she could.

Nice email Jo. :D :D

I had cause to thank an assistant in Next when I lived in the UK. My sister and I were in there for ages (Michele is a huge fan, not so me) and she'd been trying on lots of clothes and getting me to come out of the changing room, get a bigger/smaller size etc and out of all the staff there only one helped.

This particular girl was actually at the till when Michele went to pay so I asked her name and proceeded to say, in rather a loud voice, how very nice and helpful she was compared to the other lazy toerags she worked with!

The girl was happy...not so sis. She was MORTIFIED with me!

Ally

Kaz, I did wonder if the woman, at least, was temporary staff brought in for the sale but we'd been walking around and it was hot and sticky and I just wanted to get home so couldn't be bothered to push it any further.
