Got a lovely email today

Postby Osc » 14 Jul 2016, 17:49

When Mr Osc had his fainting episode in England in early May, you may remember me saying that an off-duty paramedic on the train was so very nice and kind, even though it was his day off.

After we got home, I wrote to Southern Rail to commend the platform manager for his kindness and professionalism and they emailed me back a couple of weeks later. I remembered that the paramedic said he was based at Pulborough and I did have his name, so did a bit of research and sent off an email to the ambulance area I thought would cover Pulborough, giving as much detail as I could. I heard nothing back though and was disappointed because I really wanted someone to know how nice he had been. However today I got this email, I was delighted :D and it's nice to think that he will get a letter from the Chief Executive. It would have been very easy for him not to come forward that day.

Thank you very much for your kind message expressing your gratitude to the ambulance staff member who attended your husband on 4 May 2016.

I hope your husband is feeling more comfortable now.

From the details you have provided I have been able to identify the staff member concerned and I have passed your message to him. He will also receive a letter from our Chief Executive thanking him for his hard work and dedication.

It really is encouraging for our staff when they receive thanks from patients and relatives for the care they have provided, and it is always very much appreciated.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us.

Kind regards

It always amazes me that people are so quick to complain, but rarely take the time to praise.

I always praise someone if they deserve it...I like doing so.

I've just sent an email off to the Panopticon theatre in Glasgow singing the praises of the man named Pete who was utterly delightful in showing us around last Thursday. :D

I always think that so always make a point of emailing a company when praise is needed.

Joe and I were coming back on the train from the football one evening earlier this year and as you can imagine the train had a fair few drunks on it. As we sat there I heard another walk into the carriage, singing Is This The Way To Amarillo. I turned to look and it was actually the conductor. By the time he'd got a quarter of the way along he'd got the carriage singing along with him, he was dancing away as he checked tickets  It was brilliant and really livened up the journey home :D
I emailed Cross Country with the train details and asked them to thank him and I had a reply, they said it's not often that they hear good things but they'd definitely pass on my message.
