The 'Curate's egg' cabinet begins.

Osborne is sacked, that's a good move.

Johnson didn't get the Court Jester Ministry, instead he is Foreign secretary, a very bad move.

Hammond as Chancellor, there is the word 'chance' in Chancellor. Hmm.

Rudd as Home secretary, definitely one to watch.

Fallon remains in Defence, neutral.

'Mr Expenses' Fox to International Trade, I wonder how many mates he will invite in? Not good.

Davis gets Brexit, this is a great move.

It will be an interesting evening. What will we wake up to?

I think Boris to the FO is rather a shrewd move, TBH. It has an element of payback - "you created this international mess, now you help clear it up".

Also, as one Guardian commentator has quipped;

Johnson’s appointment represents a glittering promotion for him - but perhaps a demotion for the Foreign Office. Superficially it is an odd appointment, because it won’t take long to compile quite a long list of countries and foreign leaders Johnson has offended in the past, but he likes to be liked and he may forge good relations with his counterparts. But the new arrangements also suggest the Foreign Office is being downsized. It used to be in charge of aid, but under Labour it lost that to DfID. Now it is losing Brexit (to Davis’s department) and international trade (to Fox’s department). What’s left for Johnson? Handing out the Ferrero Rocher?

And as another commentator has said, what other high profile job can you give someone where if they make a total hash of it, it'll only ruin their own career, not the Government?

Finally, I bet May lurrrrved telling George, "You want the Foreign Office? Nah, we've already got a trained monkey for that. Now on yer bike, matey ...."

I thought her attire was rather odd, mind you .... it was almost as if she was wearing some sort of yellow apron .... :?

What did you make of it?

Her attire is neither here not there, but if it looked like a housecoat it would be appropriate - there is a lot of cleaning up to do.

Gove has gone and so has Morgan and there will be at least two departments lost to make way for the new Trade and Brexit departments just created.

I see that the world's press are having a field day with gaff prone eccentric and self-promoting idiotic BoJo. With a bit of luck he will make such a balls up that he will be sent back to kennels with a rubber bone to chew on.

Well now, she has shocked many of us by not bottling it.

Instead she has grabbed the bull by the horns and ripped its head off.

Is she more of a canny political operator than we thought, and will the new look work? Big questions to answer; only time will tell.

Hunt remains in Health :( I feel this means that May agrees with his views over the recent conflicts, and I fear for the future of the NHS under her now :?

Do the resignations of Villiers and Crabb indicate that the healing process within the Tory party is not going as planned?
