Dinner tonight?

Postby Kaz » 12 Jul 2016, 16:57

We're having spaggie bol, as requested by Harry, with garlic bread :) I've got some lemon mousses (meece? :P ) in the fridge if anyone wants a pud :)

Just me and John tonight, Tom's working and Joe's at his Prom so we're having jacket potatoes with some spicy chicken, peppers and tomato concoction that's been cooking in the slow cooker.

Chicken kiev, rice, mushrooms cooked with the kievs with extra garlic butter, cherry tomatoes, green beans :)

I had a gorgeous lunch :D
Went to a talk/session on naturopathy, really interesting and informative - and it included lunch :)
Smoked salmon, cream cheese and spinach roulade, cold roast turkey; a salad of watercress, rocket, beetroot and feta, and couscous with loads of veg in :)
And coffee cake, which I brought home for us both :D

Same here Kaz, I'm not too keen on pasta with tomato sauces for some reason. There's a lemon chicken pasta recipe that's popped up on Facebook recently though so I made that on Saturday and it was gorgeous!

Lunch really was a feast :D

Saundra we haven't had a pie for ages :)

Jo one of our favourite meals is courgette pasta, I've probably posted it before.
Halve courgette/s lengthwise then slice across. Saute either fast or slow, in oil/butter (don't need much); add garlic (I use puree) near the end.
When pasta is cooked (penne or fusilli), drain but keep some liquid, put back in pan.
Chuck courgette into pasta, add a little chopped red chilli (fresh or from a jar), a little of the pasta water, a big dollop of creme fraiche, and fresh basil.
That's it :)
I do it with asparagus too, cut up, and you can add chopped bacon at the beginning, which is nice too, or some leftover chicken, but we like it with just the courgette best :)
