Right, I'm back :D

Saundra, my hayfever has been so strange this year. It's usually sneezes and an itchy throat from late May onwards but there's been none of that this year and instead it's been itchy runny eyes and blocked ears!

Very dull here and quite humid. I went shopping first thing because I needed a birthday present for my friend Rob and I've had to resort to a t shirt, beer and chocolate again. Men are so awkward! I got home at 10am to find Joe building up flatpacks  The furniture that was delivered on Tuesday is for his and Tom's bedrooms and he's really eager to get his done. The Ikea men had stacked it all in the garage when they delivered it and he couldn't get to it on Tuesday, then he was out playing football in the park for most of yesterday but I helped him get some of the smaller boxes out last night and he sat in the living room and built up a couple of bedside cabinets, complete with drawers, while watching the football. It's something he's never done before but he did them perfectly and said he was proud of them when he'd finished  He even used the instructions :o He was building a storage unit when I came home earlier.

Ally, my Orkney friend was in Glasgow for a concert recently and sent me some pics of the murals - they're incredible! One in particular has stuck in my mind, it was of a man with a robin perched on his finger.

Frank and Ally, fantastic that you ran into each other!! :D

Kaz, is Fraggle okay now?

Afternoon all, dull now but we had a little bit of hazy sun earlier. We took the chikdren to the grassy area across the road to play football and frisbee - well Mr Osc and Michael played, Kellie ran around, grubbed around in some gravel, climbed metal steps to the Martello Tower entrance and talked non-stop! M has a fancy dress do this afternoon as part of the local summer project so Mr Osc will drop him to that, Kellie is asleep hopefully until 2.30  M is waiting to play my WWF games so I had better go  Enjoy the rest of your day :)

Afternoon all. Grey but really muggy here.

I'm at work, having my lunch. No more internet use for me during work hours!

I'll come on this evening to tell you about my new job.

Jo, I usually am quite OK with my hayfever and don't really need to take much for it but this year I've been struggling with itchy dry eyes - wonder what is so different this year. Saundra are you taking your antihistamines?

Re the flatpack furniture, I actually quite enjoy putting them together; I do get a sense of achievement from it as well. So well done Joe; good on him.
Eek, Debih; no internet whilst at work - I'd expire! Admittedly when it's busy I don't get time but now with the quiet August looming I really would be lost without internet access; it keeps me sane

It has been a strange year for us hay-fever sufferers. I am taking antihistamine daily due to the pruritis so that has kept it at bay, but I forgot to take one at Brum. On leaving day I was so snuffly and red eyed, thankfully Ria had some with her.

Hi all - good afternoon and have a great time in Scotland Ally - Jen used to get the megabus from Newcastle to London when she was at Uni....ah happy days :D :D

Kaz it sounds as if Becky has zero free time! I hope she isn't too exhausted! Still I suppose she's there to work and learn...just as well she's young! xx Have a lovely time with Harry :D

Been a busy bee today - had washing hung on the line by 8.30 and then I was dressed and out the door shortly before 9.30 to drive down to Seaton Carew for my Nordic walk - I got an email last night from Anne, our teacher, saying we were having an 'Adventure Day" - IE not round the grounds of the Pavilion where we usually are! A bit of a drive, 35-40 minutes from here, but once we got started, on damp sand to show the angle of the holes made by the poles - it was fab!! Cloudy but warmish and then the sun came out, we walked quite a way along the beach there and back, and then to the '19th hole' ;) for coffee! I've not see the group for a month as I have been on hols and whatnot, so lots to catch up on - called into Hartlepool on the way back and filled the car up and got my weekly shopping at the big Asda there, and then home shortly before 2pm :)

There's been a nasty accident in Darlington town centre, involving a service bus crashing into the Halifax branch - turns out one lady was killed and two other pedestrians seriously injured :( Awful - I knew about it because when I picked my phone up after I got to Asda (I leave everything in my car boot when walking), there was 5 missed calls from Tom and one voicemail from Jen - T thought I had gone to Darlington today and was v worried. Those poor souls :(

Smudge is a little under the weather....slightly off his food and his ears are warm to the touch. I'm going to try and keep him in tonight, I have cat litter, wish me luck - he doesn't do staying in!!!

Have a great evening all xxx
