What Are We Reading In July?

Postby Ally » 03 Jul 2016, 06:26

I'm reading Pop Goes The Weasel by M J Arlidge.

When Jackie was over in January I had the first of these books (Eeny Meeny) and Jackie was so blown away by it that she went home and ordered the rest of the series! All 4 of them!

She kept them for me and yesterday on the train journey I sat with my face in the second one. :D Amazing really as normally I'd be gazing out the window.

They are unputdownable. :D

They're crime thrillers Kaz...absolute page turners!

I've had a lovely quiet morning (I was up at 7-the men were still asleep  ) and I've read 206 pages!

Only another 56 to go...good job I had the good sense to pack the next one in my little travel bag!

I'm reading The Horse Dancer by Jojo Moyes, haven't had a chance to get really into it yet but seems promising and slightly different.

Just today finished Between You and Me by Lisa Hall - very good gripping story, slightly uncomfortable in parts and has a massive twist!

Summer of 76 by Isabel Ashdown. It's not bad, it's one I've had on my Kindle for a few years.

I'm reading "Tales From The Tail End - the adventures of a vet in practice", by Emma Milne.
For me, there's a laugh on every page, and I'm finding it hard to put down.

If you see it, get it and read it, you won't be disappointed (I hope!)

(Emma Milne appeared in 11 series of the BBC television's Vets In Practice.)

That sounds like one I would enjoy, Aggers, I'll keep an eye out for it.

Re: Tales From The Tail End

I've come to a chapter now that doesn't have a laugh on every page, but it
is all interesting reading and is written in an extremely skilful way, and in
a very educational manner. However, I don't think reading it would make
anyone want to become a vet, but it certainly makes a very good read.
