I honestly think it will not be Osborne, Johnson, May, Gove, Corbyn or any of today's prominent names. The way the Tories have behaved there is a good chance of another hung parliament and coalition, that is why Corbyn is named.

I said on the other thread that David Davis would get my vote and he might be a good outside bet.

According to article 50 of the Lisbon treaty, the departing nation is the one to initiate exit, so Junker can froth at the mouth all he wants, he'll have to wait. Unless the EU decides to ignore it's own rules.

David Davies would be a good outside bet, yes. The Tory party doesn't mind knifing it's own leaders but it tends not to reward the knifeman, as Michael Heseltine found out.

I think it will be Boris, but purely as a figurehead. It will be the make-up of the divorce negotiating team which will be crucial ....
