I wasn't going to stay up for the election

But, boy, is it turning out to have been worth it to see the Remain pundits being so cautious and so wary...

Fascinating isn't it? On my third cuppa coffee ...

The storming Leave vote in the north-east spells huge trouble down the road for Labour ....

I see North Warwickshire has just voted 67% to Leave ..... last week, Mrs O and I travelled down to Dorset for a couple of days. Almost the moment we left the West Midlands, into North Warwicks, the Vote Leave banners were prominent on the roadside. And all the way down the A429, through the Cotswolds, into Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and down into Dorset. Solidly for Leave ..... I think we only say a couple of In placards. Quite sobering.

I'm still up too, guzzling the irn bru! I'm surprised at how close the vote is so far(though not surprised at the Scottish vote).
I voted Remain and think they will win but the nation is definitely split right down the middle on this issue.
I planned on an early night but can't drag myself away from these results.

8 million votes counted so far ......... and only 44,000 odd in it. Strewth!

No Irn-Bru here, Shaz - guess I'll have to make another pot of coffee

I think I'll be brewing some coffee soon just to keep myself awake. I'm watching sky news and they are saying that going by the figures at present it is looking like a Leave vote(by 1-2%).

I'm watching the BBC and Dimbleby .... ;)

The stark division between Scotland / London and the rest of the UK is going to be a major issue to resolve going forward ...

Another factor - I can't help thinking that all those big companies writing to their employees "suggesting" they ought to vote Remain may have sparked a backlash .....

I agree with you. It happened up here during the Scottish referendum and really annoyed me so I can imagine it would have had affected a lot of voters in this referendum.

Although I voted remain a leave vote wouldn't upset me unduly as I'm hoping it will give Scotland a better chance at Independence  (I promise I won't go on about that topic
