Noise, noise, NOISE!

Postby Workingman » 06 Jun 2016, 12:17

There is no escape!

Tues, 24th May I had a new boiler fitted, so a day out. On the 25th the roofers came to replace next door's roof - bang, boom, bang, crash, morning till night. Because of the weather this went on all last week.

This morning the council have started demolishing the garages on the green just over the road. There is a digger with one of those big pneumatic chisels on the front, a bulldozer and any number of tipper trucks taking the spoil away.

I went away to Becky's for a few days last week to help her pack as her tenancy is up and she is moving back to mum's till she goes to NZ. I was hoping to come back to peace and quiet - how wrong was that!

There is a digger with one of those big pneumatic chisels on the front ...

Don't tell Mrs O, she'll want to come and drive it! :D

Down our local tip, they have a tractor with a gert big spiked roller on the front which they use to flatten down the rubbish in the skips. She says one day, she's going to hi-jack it .....

The weather's set fair, WM, so probably a lot more building work noise to come .... :(

Oooooh yes indeedy

We've had the cement mixer going all day, a digger at 7.30 this morning and the kitchen fitters have only just left    And they do like to bang doors - handles are obviously something they've not used before

I see that Marks and Spencer are now stopping the playing of canned music in their stores.

That's one step in the right direction, me thinks.

I suggest some ear plugs, Frank.
