Not a good day

Postby tonicha » 02 Jun 2016, 20:10

I don't know whether to do    or

Think    wins ;)

Apart from Grumpy having a complete tantrum this morning, because the shower head was blocked and demanded that I (at 6.50 this morning) cancel the kitchen, as there was a problem with the water - I have no sympathy, he had a hangover from too much wine last night and has been a bear with a very sore had all day, it's been one thing after another

The kitchen people arrived at 10.00. I was called into the kitchen not long after that, as they wanted to fit the microwave. Not having a microwave cupboard I said. Always not having one. Oh yes you are, here's the drawing.

Cue me ringing the office and losing my temper - something I don't always do, but when I do - I lose it big time. We decided that things were lost in translation   and I'll have a big cupboard door. The problem is, the designer has verbal problems, as in he talks and talks and doesn't listen    He was the same in the showroom.

The guy who designed the kitchen - from measurements only, obviously thought we'd want one, even though I told him, several times and he made a note of it, that the microwave is not to be put in the kitchen, we use it very rarely and lives in the utility room., This was also told to the owner.

The inside of the cupboards are grey, rather than white, so that will also be changed.

Then they asked when it will be okay to turn the lecky off, as they have to chase cables out. No you don't, it's been done. Cue more phone calls to the office. This time Grumpy lost his temper

Then it was the waste pipe for the sink - they didn't like what we had -. well, tough, I said, Sort it. We're paying your company a shed load of money, get it done. Being a softy, I asked Duarte if he could help.

So he and Pedro stopped work on the bunker and got it sorted.

Then Helda turns up. We sorted out all the groundworks, and tiling.

Bad news, he said.

Oh bluddy hell, I said. What now, I'm having a bad day. Have a beer, he said and I'll have one too. So we did

The tiles I ordered yesterday (black with a silver shimmer)

only joking, he fell for it too

Will be 4 weeks

But it'll be about 2-3 weeks to get the ground sorted, as well as the bunker, so no worries.

Then we get a shout from the kitchen people.

Why is there a hole in the worktop for the sink for the taps and the taps you have are on the wall? No idea - so another xxxx up.

Cue more phone calls.

Also the guy who measured the kitchen made a xxxx up on the measurements and we have our old tiles on show. And he's the owner :o :o

So we're having to get Helda in to sort that out. Not just in one place, but two.

So words will be said.

The kitchen guys left at 7.30 and I'm jiggered.

Will it be worth it? Actually, yes, I think it will.

Just a normal day, kitchen fitting, said Grumpy, as he's been doing it for years.

Let's see what tomorrow brings - hopefully the owner

And another thing - whilst I'm still peed off.

The water was off for quite while, as they were getting the taps sorted - one of the lads used the loo and flushed it. Fine, except I was bursting too.

But we have a big field, so I had to wee behind the battery store :o

And he also had the most awful hayfever and ,as most Portuguese do, was honking, snorting and making the most awful noises all day long.

I even gave him a packet if tissues

And we went through, with all the workers, 28 bottles of beer today :o :o

But they are the minis ;)

I'm going, Buster, I need the break.

And it's also quite pleasant to be able to drive the car, on my own, without some-one telling me to watch our for that chicken, pothole and speed

And I'll stop for a coffee on the way back too :D :D :D

To be fair K az, that's not all of it - I'd need another page.

Just been a really rubbish day.

And I'm really not happy with the attitude - but this is Portugal and if you don't complain, you don't get.

So I'll be complaining

And because Grumpy had a hangover, he didn't want to go out for dinner, so I was prepping stuff in the utility room. A very simple meal, but not what I wanted to do.

I'm going to bed soon - and read and chill
