My phone saga update

Postby Gal » 29 May 2016, 13:24

For those of you kind enough not to tell me to bore off with the saga.....I'm home with a working phone!!! B)

The manager (Paul) wasn't in today, as I'd half expected, but I spoke to a younger member of their staff (Sam) and explained all the story. She was more than helpful. The fraud thing is still ongoing, BUT there seems to have been some confusion regarding the network supplier. Back when I first got the number/network in 2012, it was registered with Orange, who were subsequently taken over by EE. The little icon on my phone has showed EE for yonks so I thought no more of it. When I went to see what was happening with my account online yesterday (Orange) it showed my account was closed! so I thought right, that settles it, I'm going with another company and quitting EE altogether. Then Sam twigged that the Orange sim card wouldn't connect to EE so she's changed it this morning to an EE sim and ta-dah - texts and voicemails started coming through right away! When Sam checked my account, it's an updated one with EE and I'm still 'with' them, but she said if I wanted to change networks, given the hassle I have had, then I could do so, after the fraud thing is settled. I'm going back in to see Paul later next week to discuss this in more detail.

Thanks for listening xxx
Gal

Phew, Gal! What a mess, but it sounds as though you are getting a result - at last.

Erm....maybe not.

So my phone works again, which is great, BUT since they changed me to EE, I got a new login and went to have a look last night....seems like my first bill will be £59.99!!!

That would tally with an iPhone 6 with an iPad, and 4G (the fraud order), but not with an old little iPhone 4s on a 3G tarriff....

I stopped the direct debit going out on the 13th May but I will HAVE to go and have another talk with Paul, the manager, on Friday! I don't understand what the fraudster is gaining by this, they haven't got the goods (afaik) and there is no money going out of my account....

It's not good for my blood pressure, or my anxiety, is all this!!

Hmmm, EE, or otherwise known as T-Mobile with a hint of Orange.

I had to take T-Mobile to court to get them to stop hassling me for payment and as a result they had to pay me back every single penny I'd paid them AND leave me with the Mobile Wifi USB stick.

Don't feel stressed. I suggest you go back to the shop and talk to them about options to change, get the shop to contact EE and tell them you are probably going to move because they are an intransigent, incompetent, bunch of toerags and that if this does not stop forthwith you will consider raising a small claims court action against them for stress, after, of course, you have convinced your doctor to sign that off...

Give them pain. De stress. Worst case is that you move suppliers. You can move to Virgin more easily than any of the others, but you can also go to Three who have some pretty good deals.
