How is everyone?

Have you all had a good day? We've weeded, transplanted, had a stroll down the drive to investigate what that pile of stones covers (the lecky stuff, we think) had a huuuuge brekkie and when we were tired (back achey), sat outside with a beer or four

We are literally loving our life here - wish we were able to do it years ago - but probably not the right time

Talking about how we'd be living back in England, we'd both still be working, me hating my job by now and Grumpy still having to do bits and bobs. Even living in our old house in Fuzeta, this is so much cheaper, better quality of life and we have been made more welcome here in the few months we've been here, than we were in the Algarve.

If any of you want to see the real Portugal - even for a day or so, you are more than welcome.

And no, I'm not piddled, just want to share

Well, I'm looking out of the window onto a grey, wintery sky. It's been raining, everything is sodden, and it's cold. We have the central heating on. The birdies outside are already chirruping "goodnight".

Still, there's soup and left-over beef from lunch for supper, a couple of good programmes on the telly, and chocolate somewhere in the house if Mrs O can remember where she's hidden it .....

Then tomorrow, we'll see what the rest of the Bank Holiday brings ......

It's lovely to hear you so happy there Ton, you waited such a long time for the move and it's BRILL how it's all turned out I will get out and see you some time, I promise

I'd kill for some sunshine at the moment, it feels as though this long grey wet winter will never end

Moving areas has made a bit of a difference, it's gorgeous down in the Algarve, but colder here.

We were chatting earlier, about the pool (me!!! having a pool!!! berlimey!!!) and the way the wind and its a north wind, whips round, so we may do something else there.

I never, ever thought we'd have a lovely house - okay, small, but detached and with a lot of land and a pool. And money in the bank

Grumpy is in heaven - and as for his brown bum The gap between his trousers and t-shirt is sooo brown

How am I?

How could I not be anything but happy?!

I live in a beautiful place with a fantastic climate.

Mountains, sea and beach.

We love the food, the vibe and the relaxed way of Spanish life.

Great friends and a fab job.

And so glad we made the move in 2003 as opposed to later in our lives.

Deep sigh of contentment. x

Ton, I love your updates and even more reading just how happy and content you both are now - I'm so very pleased for you both.

As for the weather, well, today is a rather miserable windy damp day, but yesterday - May decided to come in with a blaze of glory where we are - 16 or so degrees, blue skies and glorious sunshine; and the sitting in the sun the temperature felt way way warmer than the 16 they said it was. Both Nadine and I caught the sun on our faces a bit - just heaven!
