Ouch.... my poor purse

Postby meriad » 08 Apr 2016, 16:11

aerial man came and went - super speedy and efficient service; really friendly guy but wowzer.... £110 later for 40 minutes work. Admittedly he tidied the cables etc and it all does look a lot neater outside but    that money could have well been used elsewhere

I'm in the wrong job!

Frank it does work and that's the main thing. Or rather, the TV in the dining room still works and if the one in the lounge won't then the guy will come out free of charge.

In a way, it is my own fault really as I should have gotten people to come out and quote but I only cancelled Sky to move to BT just before Easter and then the week after Easter my colleague was off so I couldn't take time off to have people come round to quote. As the Sky / Bt change over is taking place this coming Monday I had to have things sorted by then and this guy had quite a few really good recommendations from a website called Streetlife.

Times and moments when being single and out the house 12 hours for work (including the commute) isn't conducive to saving money ;)

Ria, it should work fine....

As for the cost: if you had taken say half a day off work for more quotes you would not have got the job done for much less, but when you add in your lost hours it might have "cost" you more.

Swings and ....

yes and no but..... because no one really monitors our leave so I could have taken the time off without a problem and no loss of pay... but I just couldn't take time off. I was lucky that both my bosses were out today so it was OK otherwise I'd have been well and truly scuppered :D
