Evening all, we had another nice time today. Headed into town early, there was lots going on for the centenary of the 1916 Rising. We just strolled around, visiting a few of the important places, then happened to be at the main stage when one of the well-known performers came on. To our delight two of the other acts listed for the day came on as her "guests", all people we wanted to see. Normally we are too early or late to see the good acts as a time is not listed, so we got over an hour of great music totally unexpectedly. Came home after that, and relaxing for the evening. Hope Di has a safe journey home on the ferry and that everyone else has had a nice day :)

Wasn't it just Kaz, the late check-out was lovely too, it meant no rush plus we could clean properly too.
I'm always aware when Minnie's with us, we want the people to be happy for us to stay again ;)

Just as you were posting we were on the ferry and about to set off, and having stopped at Tesco for a few bits, we've been home an hour :D

Osc we were just both posting :D
It's been interesting, your posts here and fb, about the weekend. Lovely bonus with the music :)

Glad you're back home safe Di, and how nice of the owner to offer that free night were it needed.

I had a lovely day with my friend; the roads on the way there were definitely not the nicest to drive along - it was all single lane country road and quite a few places where branches had fallen into and partially blocking the road and so so much water on the roads as well - Just as well there wasn't much traffic on the roads. The way back was a lot better as I missed a turn off so SatNav redirected.

Well, back to work for me tomorrow. As much as it's nice to have time off before Easter etc the weather really wasn't all that conducive to doing much in the garden and being stuck indoors home alone for most of the time wasn't much fun. So in a way it'll be nice to get out and about again tomorrow :D

Osc your weekend sounded fab - glad you got to hear the music you liked.

Yes it was a lovely weekend, and very well done - obviously a long time went into the organisation so the outgoing government can sort of take the credit  Despite the fears of very many, the weekend was not highjacked by people like Sinn Fein, although there was a Continuity IRA march but people just seemed to ignore them. Even the weather obliged both days! Now to finish it off, we are watching the live broadcast of a pageant/show/concert which is very good so far. Feeling rather proud to be Irish :D

Very true, Di, especially when we lived in London in the 1970s during the time of the Guildford and Birmingham bombings and in the 80s and 90s if we went to Northern Ireland.
