Morning
It's a bit windy!
Some of you may have heard there were gusts of up to 106mph at the Needles last night
It started properly late afternoon, the wind having built up all day, with rain, thunder, hailstones, you name it
We timed going out well though, stayed nearby as we knew what was coming, and went to Newport Quay, to a lovely pub called The Bargeman's Rest.
Didn't have the amazing-looking roast, as we'd had rib of beef the night before and plenty left
Bb had a lamb and chorizo casserole, in a tomato and herb sauce; I had a whole sea bass, grilled with garlic butter and prawns.
Both came with all the veg they were serving with the roast, except roast potatoes - local new potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrots, broccoli, mashed swede, and peas
We already knew that although officially check-out is 10, our ferry's not till 5 and no-one's arriving tomorrow, so we could leave as late as we wanted.
Just now the lady who lives in the biggest ex-barn knocked on the door to say the owner of ours had phoned her to say if there were any problems with the ferry we can stay an extra night, free of charge
Think it will be ok, the wind is supposed to ease gradually, but obviously will keep checking and it's lovely to know we won't be stuck
It's gorgeously bright and sunny at the moment, but scarily windy
Very happy bunnies as we downloaded Skygo to Bb's tablet before we came, and hey presto we can watch the cricket
