Another uppy and downy day

Postby tonicha » 13 Mar 2016, 19:06

Lovely morning, so got dressed in jumper and jeans, but with flip-flops :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

Got rather warm, so off with the jumper and on with a sleeveless t-shirt and a skirt :o and also lots of sun-cream.

Rang a friend, back in Fuzeta, and he's been really ill, in hospital, but discharged himself after 2 days - silly ole fxxt   His wife is over here now, she lives in England but going back on Thursday,

Grumpy has a brain wave. Another friend in Fuzeta is a nurse and she does extra bits and bobs, so have put them in touch with each other - just until he's back on his feet again. As she said, if we'd still been in our old house, we'd have noticed we hadn't seen him for a while and checked up on him. As it was, she rang the police and they took him to hospital as the silly man wouldn't go himself

It got a little chilly later, so the jeans, socks and jumper is back on.

But favas for dinner - lovely fresh ones - and it smells gorgeous :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

Broad beans Saundra - cooked in olive oil, with onion, garlic, parsley, coriander and lots of presunto and chorizo. With bread, it's lovely.

We shelled the beans earlier :D :D

Now off to eat it.

He's in his mid 80's Kaz and normally as fit as a fiddle.

But spent 3 months back in England and came back with a cold, which turned into a lung infection. There is only one other English person he's in touch with in the village and they were back in England and we were up here.

I spoke to him and he sounded okay ish, and I've given Gem a load of info about what to do tomorrow - register him with the centro de saude, see Felipe and also the Junta, so hopefully, he'll be okay.

She's going back Thursday, but coming over again in a couple of weeks and then they're hoping to drive up to see us - Gem doesn't drive (apart from Bill up the wall ;)

They were gert lush Saundra.

Bought them from a man in a van, outside the bar, on Saturday afternoon :Hi: :Hi: as is normal in these parts. :D :D :D

The cheese lady arrived, but we had enough.

We get the bread man every morning, the 3 different veggie and supermarket men about 3 times a week, the bean man comes when he has some and the fish man comes twice a week. Oh, and the clothes lady comes on Saturday too

Ton,
No standing in queues at the supermarket tills and trying to find your credit card.
All fresh produce, not carted half way round the world and stored for weeks before being displayed.
Wish we had that service
