For those of us with kindles, please check out your model at the above link! There is a recall on some of the power adaptors - D's was one of these, and she's already stopped using the old one and has ordered her free replacement!

It's all this stuff made in China it's lethal
I brought mine in Tesco and a friend gave me an adapter

Mine didn't come with an adapter like that, just a USB cable so I don't think it'll be affected.
