Doctors' receptionists have a difficult job to do, I'm sure we'd all agree - but a stint at charm school would help ours immeasurably.
They often come across as unreconstructed Jobsworths, in the good old-fashioned Esther Rantzen "That's Life" sense .....

I had made an appointment for one of the doctors to phone me. It was the following week. Called in at the surgery in the morning and got an appointment for 2.15 in the afternoon I only wanted to discuss my medical history as I was renewing my annual travel insurance policy. Got a print out of the relavent details.
We always have good service. Can send a repeat proscription by email one day and it is ready for collection at the chemist the following day.
