That is right Frank.. I just wonder what it takes to get people so aroused that they take positive action like writing as I do to MP's and indeed David Cameron himself I wrote to the Chief Executive threatening to expose the disgraceful guidance of a stroke victim, who went in around 10.a.m. and was directed to a made up bed at 11.p.m. where the sheets had not been changed and had been fouled by the previous occupant .... Yes I had a speedy reply apologies from the C.Ex that perpetuated hopefully a kick up the ass of the bumptious twit of a secretary.. However in the same hospital in the cancer wing I could not fault my treatment and care... Hereford hospital by the way is also under scrutiny..

I mentioned in the OP the temporary closure of the only childrens ward in our local hospital due to staff shortages.

Today our local paper leads with the death of a 4 year girl in January who died hours after being sent home from that ward. The question now being asked by the family is whether the staff shortages led to her being discharged too early before being properly diagnosed ....

There has not yet been an inquest but it is believed to have been meningitis - the hospital diagnosed it as a viral infection.

As I have mentioned previously, I found a letter I had written to the Mid Wales Journal in 2001 (or two) I have lost the copy with the date on it however according to my letter I was age 67 when I wrote it now in my 80th year...and had entered hospital folloing damaging my knee!! the letter was with respect to the shocking lack of care in our hospitals, and the use of "Pathway" as mentioned by Aggenoria a subject that I am sure you were fed up with me ranting about.. the title was "We should feel confident in our Twilight years"
So this mal- treatment is not new, and now as we have discovered the neglect has covered all age groups "from the cradle to the grave"... As mentioned previously this included my handicapped brother who should never have been operated on ( and was against family wishes ) he died, and my daughter Gusty (Gae'l) who suffered with over six years of medical neglect and has been left healthwise in a very vulnerable position, her life seriously at risk.. Any come back against the hospital "Bedford and Addenbrooks a Teaching hospital?" None"!!!
Some fellow posters will know the outrage my posts on the subject "Pathway" lack of hygiene, secondary infections and neglect in our hospitals stirred, to the point I left the forum that I had enjoyed along with VV for a number of years.. The only two I have joined. Thankfully VV is more open minded to opinions, and my controversial posts noting the NHS fall out seemingly have been vindicated...
And I am still posting "Thanks for tolerating me"!!

The government is now making noises about it being astonishing that no-one has been prosecuted for the goings-on at Stafford hospital.
I agree; but we'll have to see if the police and CPS do as well.

If they are of the same mind as Lord Charlie Falconer was the other night on Question Time the auxiliaries and cleaners had better watch out. Falconer was quite happy to lay the blame at their door in defence of his friend Sir David Nicholson.

I noted that Frank, but what would one expect from another incompetent bedfellow and friend who shared a flat with Tony B'Liar
