Ria, mine has a 750W and a 1250W setting or 2kW in total.

If I run the heater for 14 hours a day at 750 it costs about £1.30, at 1250 it is about £2.20. I tend to have a mix of the two so it comes in at about £1.75, which to be nice and comfy is a bit of a bargain tbh.

It is so effective I have very rarely used it at full power.

Ria, we have quite a few of these and used them before we had the boiler in. When the boiler failed we had a 2.5kw one in our bedroom and a 2kw one in our spare room for guests. They were set to the right setting to keep the room at a good temperature and run for 3 months 24x7.

I've found them very reliable and tend to be less temperamental than the element type one's. They do tend to take more time to get up to heat, but they also hold their heat better when they are up to heat and, as I say, I've had several element type one's fail and none of the oil filled one's have ever failed.

If you want to fine tune using it, you could look at something like this.

I was using one of them on my 2KW oil heater in the attic this Christmas. I also have one on my desktop PC...

Well - happy to report it's a 100% success. Frank I had a look at the manual and apparently on mine level 1 = 600W and level 2 = 900W. I was thinking of having a proper radiator reinstalled at some point but given the past two nights - no need; this little heater does the trick.

Suff, what a nifty gadget :D

They're quite useful Ria. Just on Thursday I was looking at my PC at home and it was throwing loads of usb power errors. Follewed, inevitably, by the whole thing vanishing off the face of the earth (crashed).

I pulled my mobile out, opened the app, switched the socket off, waited 30 seconds, switched it back on again and 5 minutes later connected to my PC (in France) and disabled the offending orifice....

Very useful things and, with a timer on it, even more useful.
