A ping of the bell ...

Postby TheOstrich » 25 Feb 2016, 14:06

So Mrs O is doing Slimming World - I know a lot of you VVers are with the rival Weightwatchers ...

At Slimming World, they have a bell. It's like a hotel reception bell wot you ping to get attention. Apparently, if you lose 1 lb, they ping the bell once, everyone stops and you get applauded. :D
If you lose, say, 4 lbs, they ping it 4 times. Anything over 8 lbs, I guess they ping it like the Big Ben chimes .....

So I ask Mrs O what happened as she'd lost 1/2 lb. She said it was met with stoney silence. :? I said, what happens if you put on weight, do they use a raspberry hooter?

Mrs O also gets a mandatory weekly phone-call ..... :|

Still, the Slimming World ready meals which I picked up from Iceland are quite palatable, and as I bought 3 of them, they threw in 2 free packs of Muller Lite yoghurts as a bonus offer!

Do you get pinged at Weightwatchers?

Absolutely not!!!!! :o  I wouldn't have gone again if they'd done that to me :? :cute:

I do wonder Ossie, if it's just at Mrs O's group they do this as I've never heard of it before and I did once attend a SW class for a few weeks, about 10 years ago :?

I'd be sticking that bell where the sun don't shine! :x :x

Any weight loss should be encouraged no matter how small...stoney silence indeed!

I think it was SW my sister was with for a long time...is it them that do 'green' days and 'red' days?

A green day for me would be a mojito and a red day would be a strawberry daiquiri.     :Hi:

I don't get pings or stoney silence.

My weight is what it is... live with it - I do.

If I want to reduce it, fine, if not, also fine. Whatever you do, do not phone me about it or ring a bell. You will annoy me no end and I might kill you.

:D Mrs O says she did SW about 15 years ago and they had red and green days back then, but it is a very different set-up these days; they call it now "Food Optimising" and I think it is all down to food combinations.

Food combinations to me usually means bacon & egg, or fish 'n chips ......
