It was a lovely sunny day, so we headed off to walk on the lake and see the racecourse, great fun. When we checked in, the hotel offered us half board at a very good rate considering the cost of food here, and we accepted and we are glad we did - it's a set menu but the food both evenings has been gorgeous with proper old fashioned properly trained waiters. Breakfast was yummy too, and another one tomorrow

The racing today was cancelled, we were not too surprised as we have been following the forecast for a couple of weeks and today was always going to have a lot of snow, although the problem is rising temperatures not being good for the ice on the lake. We are very good at going with the flow, so set off to explore. Saw a signpost for the Cresta Run which Edward was very interested in, so off we went, about 20 mins walk. It was set up many years ago by the English, when we got there a very friendly man told us what path to follow and best viewpoints etc. It's all still terribly English, commentary totally in English, none of this pandering for Germans or Italians

It's been such a fab day, seeing all the different winter sports, madmen going down the Cresta Run on trays, bobsleigh teams, little children whizzing along on skis, some amazing fur coats and lots and lots of snow, it has been snowing pretty steadily certainly since we went on the cable car.
So tomorrow is our final train journey to Zurich, and home tomorrow night. It has been so much more than we imagined, and actually, not having the races meant we did a whole lot than we would have done had they gone ahead.
