Our friend Luis

Postby tonicha » 06 Feb 2016, 12:12

the local Chief of Police here, invited himself and Sonia, his wife, to dinner at our house :o :o

Won't be for a while, as they're busy, we're busy, but my dilemma - what to cook!

Do I go full on English and do something like a shepherds pie with cabbage?

Or should I do something like chicken breasts, wrapped in presunto, with garlic mushrooms, broccoli and roast potatoes or dauphinoise?

Or something else.

And no, I don't really want to do sausage, egg and chips, with baked beans

I would suggest that you come up with a typical English meal.

I'm sure they would appreciate that.

Something that can cook it's self while you pour the drinks
Shepard pie not cabbage tho it tends to linger :D

Not when he's off-duty, I hope ;)

But he did tell us off yesterday, for not changing the address on the car log book before now - so we're doing that on Monday

And we'll sort Grumpy out with a Portuguese driving licence, I'm ok, I can wait a few more years, but I might just change it.

Sunday roast, obviously - Rosbif, Yorkshires, roasties and two veg, with lashings of gravy (from a packet, of course, Ton  ;) ) Soup to start, trifle to finish.

The beef here WM, is rubbish. Although I did manage to buy - once - a rib of beef, which wasn't too bad.

And lumpy gravy??
