Cruiser, don't you dare come home unless you do have sunshine packed - lots of it!   Glad to hear you're having a good time

Kaz, odd that Chris hasn't been in touch; hopefully it's because he's out celebrating ;)

Oh that does sound lovely!! Yum!!

No, not really Ria, Chris is a man of few words ;)

I'm really peed off actually, someone on Facebook said I was jinxing my kids by putting stuff on Facebook! For a start C isn't a kid he's a 37 year old man, and secondly he isn't on my Facebook so won't have seen it? Who does she think she is?

Oh Chris just rang, he did fail but it sounds like the examiner was having a bad day  He told C he'd passed out that morning and that he shouldn't be there! C said he was puffing and panting all through the test! Then failed him for mounting the kerb when he didn't. C is making a complaint but of course that won't alter the result - and the first available date for another test is May :(

Aw thanks both. He's looking for a cancellation, I did suggest another test centre too so we'll see :)

Definitely tell Chris to go for another centre Kaz and even more definitely to put in a complain. No offence meant to the examiner, but it sounds like he's rather overweight and a heart attack waiting to happen. What would happen to the average 18 year old person taking their test and said examiner did keel over?

Ultimately examiner is in charge of the vehicle until the learner has passed his/her licence. And this examiner obviously wasn't....

Hi Kaz, That's extremely annoying being failed for something you didn't do and for an examiner who was not fit to do the test. I'd be demanding a free re-test at another centre.

I must admit I failed my first motorcycle test but passed all the others (I've passed 3 tests now). When I did my UK car test it was in a 4 Ton truck. I had parked, knocked the thing out of gear and was about to release the brakes when I realised I had not applied the hand brake. Fortunately for me that brake was on my left (LHD) and I was between the examiner and the brake. I applied it silently and then released the foot brake. I made a hell of a lot of noise releasing it when I drove off, thus giving the examiner the excuse to "assume" I had applied it before I took the truck out of gear.

Fortunately for me the Army was about passing people who could drive and not failing people for a "quota". It was December 12th and the examiner was impressed that I was not phased at all by the 6" of snow lying around...

Good luck for Chris next time.

As for the 'ssole on FB... This is exactly the reason I don't have a FB account... Even though I'm quite capable of calling into account the parentage of said idiot and denigrating their intelligence and, fundamentally, questioning their morals, social conscience and suggesting that they go and infest some dark hole where other idiots like them live.

But it's just not worth the effort. They don't listen and assume that you are wrong no matter what they write. Although we outnumber them the irritation factor is simply not worth taking...
