Ria, yes it was the worst I've ever driven it and I've been driving over that bridge for the last 30 years off and on with over 2 years crossing it twice a day. I was nearly blown over three times between the Inglistion park and ride and the tram stop on the site... Fortunately the rain wasn't too bad as there was no way of holding an umbrella in that wind, the metal fencing was howling like a forest in a major storm. Some people came into work later looking like they had been in the path of a bucket of water..

Snow tonight and over the weekend.... I get the key to the Airbnb tonight then I move in over the weekend.

Ria your poor friend!!! I've had cysts removed but only tiny ones! Will be thinking of her (((((x))))) Chris has always lived and worked so close to good PT ( a couple of minutes walk from Staines station, five minutes walk from the council offices where he works, a bus ride to the tube) so has never felt the need before, but there are rumours about them moving the council building where he works (Spelthorne council possibly moving to Sunbury) to somewhere a lot further from where he lives and not accessible by PT, plus he has a bit more money now, so he decided to take his test.

I don't think he was rushing it on purpose, he just took to it very quickly and decided to plough on His dad was the same, he was living and working in London when I met him and at 27 had never had a lesson. When we decided to move to Yorkshire he learned within a couple of months and passed! Hoping that Chris will be the same

Morning all, very windy here too but this house is sheltered from it this time. I was up and out early for a physio appointment at 9.30. I'm feeling pretty rough with this dose and plan to do very little for the rest of the day. I need to go to the bank and order Swiss francs but that's it. Thankfully we have nothing planned for the weekend so I have a few days to really rest up and try to get better as next week will be busy before we go away. Stay safe everyone, and enjoy your day

Just heard from another friend, Anne has come through the op - it was more serious than they thought and they ended up having to do a full hysterectomy , but thankfully no cancer cells which is fantastic news. Originally she was due to come home on Monday already but given the bigger op she's now in the high care unit until Monday and will be in hospital longer than expected. Poor thing, but the focus will be on the good news that it's nothing malicious.

Well I managed to get to art class, which I was pleased about; after yesterday's 5am start I wasn't at all sure!
Up, coffee, took Minnie out, took Bb his cooled boiled water to bathe the eye, first lot of eye drops in, etc,etc...all go
Then had to post some work for him and pop to W/rose which was definitely trolley-rage time
Treated myself to some lovely prawns for a lunchtime sandwich, also brought home cake from this morning for us both to have later.

Last night had second half of sheperds pie made Wednesday, tonight a couple of no-work options

Kaz..I had to think what year I passed my test. July 29th 1988 which made me 26 which was 'quite old' compared to everyone else I knew.

I was 25 - pretty old lol - I sat my test (no theory back then, they used to ask you a few questions at the end of your test lol) on November 6th, and got married on 23rd...pretty busy month! Hope Chris has good news!

I haven't slept a wink last night, the wind has been so strong against the back of the house which is where we sleep, above the conservatory which has been creaking and moaning like billio all night My nerves are shot. I had a GP check up yesterday and my BP is back to where it was when all this started, despite being ok two weeks ago and despite being on a higher dose of meds Had issues earlier this week which have probably not helped in that regard but could really do without this atm!!

Trying to have a quiet day today - I went to Darlington yesterday and bought a sweater dress in Primark and a look round....called in to Sedgefield for a coffee and a sandwich and then home. Jen is at work atm then when she's done she's meeting her friend for a drink so will likely be home around 5 or 6pm (she'll be finished work in about ten minutes)

Hope those affected by the wind stay safe - it's really horrible out there, we are to have snow overnight to top everything off!

Thanks for all the good wishes for Chris, not heard a word so I'm guessing it didn't go well or I'm sure I would have! Might ring him tonight to find out, or it might be wise to give him a day or two to lick his wounds
