Not actually raining here, but very leaden sky ....

The Ostrich is currently awaiting the results of a pitch inspection at Ashby Ivanhoe FC for his afternoon footie match; the bird's back-up game at Stapenhill has already been called off. The cumulative effects of days of on-off rain in the Midlands .... :o

After a 2nd pitch inspection and finding a drowned vole in the goalmouth today's game vs @KimberleyMWFC has been called OFF !

Hi all - sorry I have been AWOL these past few days, just the hectic-ness of Christmas prep (I'm never prepped!!) working till Wednesday at 5.30 and then an early morning dash out to wait for the shops to open at 9 on C Eve to get some last minute bits, then wrapping them and tidying the house ready for the Big Day.

We have had a smashing time, Amy stayed at ours C Eve and we got a take out, then after opening our gifts yesterday (I've been a VERY lucky girl - two new Links of London charms for my bracelet from T AND a kindle (!!) ) we popped over to Donna's to see our babies, had a loely hour or so there as they were going to John's mam's for lunch and then we came back to a gorgeous meal that Jen cooked, and we cleared up (T and I). Rest of the day was spent eating chocs and finishing off the Prosecco and Baileys :) oh and we watched Love Actually....J and I for the hundredth time, T has never seen it but loved it!

It started raining as we drove back from Donna's and hasn't stopped since, I haven't slept I am so worried ....it's never been this bad

Stay dry everyone xxxxxx

Good afternoon all.

It's a grey, windy but dry day here so far. We walked into town this morning, to get a bit of exercise and
to have a look round the shops for bargains. [We bought next year's Christmas cards and wrapping paper
at half price.] :) Not much else planned for today.

Well, we took Harry to the sales as he wanted to go into Game but the queues were out of the door  So he saw what he wanted and decided to order it online instead  We went for a bite in Coffee#1 and as it's opposite Debenhams Becks and I nipped into the sale there whilst Mick and H were eating - I used the voucher Chris gave me and some of the money D gave me :) I've got a beautiful new purple fluffy dressing gown, and a new 3/4 length grey coat!! :Hi: I will look for links and post on Boutique later :) I forgot to mention earlier, I also had a beautiful silver and pearl ring from a dear friend, thanking me for the support I've been to her this year! Which was lovely :) ;)

Mick took two minutes to sort D's Kindle Fire out, so she was happy, and we stayed for a cuppa and watched most of Jurassic Park LOL

Gal your day sounds lovely - try not to worry too much about the rain hunny, if you've never flooded before you will most likely be ok, but have a hug anyway ((((x))))

Ossie, drowned voles on the pitch is a new one - my Chris is off to see Brentford play today, I don't reckon he'll have the same problem  ;)

Aggers I was also glad of the walk around town, I hadn't left the house in more than two days!
