Legacy of my childhood - we were at my granny's and she served up beef pie for dinner, except this 'B' on the pie was for blackberry
It was pre-freezer days, she'd bought it at the market...

Mr Osc had a golfing friend (sadly no longer with us) who said to him sometime in March or April one year that he had two boned turkey legs in the freezer and would we use them. Of course Mr Osc said yes, and accordingly he brought them home, still frozen. As they were defrosting, we thought they looked a bit red.....eventually they were revealed to be two large fillet steaks They were delicious and we never said anything

I don't label, a lot of what we freeze is bol sauce or chilli, and I have to peer hard to see if there are kidney beans before I defrost a container.

Not everything, every time - I too do the spot the kidney bean game
But I do like to know whether that half-pack of mince is pork or turkey, or beef or lamb...so many things look the same frozen
