He met me after work to go to Ikea.
All the time there I was looking at his face and couldn't fathom out what was different.
Kept looking..but no.
We then had a coffee (Don likes using his Ikea family card as you get as much free coffee as you want
) and it was at the table he put me out of my misery as to what was different. His eyebrows have been practically burnt off.
Here is the tale...
We have a 'gun' lighter thingymedoodah to light the gas cooker.
They cost the princely sum of 1 euro...yes, 1 whole euro!!!
We need a new one about 4 times a year...oh the expense!!
Don decides to buy a lighter thingymedoodah refill.
(Honest to God I've never fathomed this man out. He is so mega generous but will do and buy the most stupidest things to save a few measly centimos!!)
He's refilling the lighter thingymedoodah..some of it drips out so he does it over the sink to save making a mess.
Once the lighter thingymedoodah is full he clicks it to make sure all is well and....WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A big ball of flame came up out the sink..and burned his eyebrows.
And the hairs on his arms have what can only be described as a no.1 haircut!!!!
He was SO lucky it wasn't worse.
After the shock of him telling me this we laughed so much other Ikea shoppers were giving us strange looks.
His eyebrows look as though the barber has gone scissor happy on him.
Me and Bernie are going for a few beers shortly.
