Afternoon all - warm and quite nice here although it poured down again last night.

Busy, busy at work for me today - I've just stopped for my lunch.

Quiet evening in for me tonight - I'm busy, busy the rest of the week.

Good afternoon all.

We had a lovely three-day break in Lincoln. It was supposed to be to visit the Christmas Market,
but we didn't manage to get that far.. I've never seen so many people. It was almost impossible
to walk through the streets, it was so crowded. But we spent a lot of time in the cathedral, and
that was well worth the visit. I think that it is the most amazing cathedral I've ever seen - and I've
seen quite a few. We also went in the castle, but the walk round the walls had been abandoned
because of the high winds.
I'd like to visit Lincoln again sometime, but not when there's a Christmas fair on.

Hope you are all O.K.
Aggers

What a shame aggers it's really quite frightening with all the crowds I have to say

To be honest alot of the stalls are overpriced or full of tat

No, we didn't, Saundra. This cathedral has a layout quite different from any other
church or cathedral that I have ever seen. Even the choir stalls had a section all to
themselves, quite apart from the main congregation area. We both love to go there
again when it is quieter. We enjoyed two mini-concerts in the cathedral, one by a
choir of presumably local school children, and another by a brass band playing carols.
We also had a lovely meal in there. We have suggested to our local coach company
that they have another holiday based at Lincoln next year, (but not on a Street Fair
occasion), so we could explore more of lovely Lincolnshire.

Good evening everyone :) So many posts on here now that I can't remember everything to reply to, but everyone sounds busy and well ;)

Osc, don't overdo it!

Aggers, nice to see you back :)

Di, not long at all but actually this new system, based on so called smartpoints seems very sensible, and I reckon is based on low GI, so lean proteins have dropped significantly in points and refined carbs gone up significantly, and sugars off the scale! It will take a little bit of getting used to, but looks ok :)

Thanks everyone for the support and kind words, things went off absolutely fine, as well as they can in such circumstances - he got a good send off. Ron was Scottish and a piper playing Amazing Grace piped him into the crematorium, which was moving. There was tea and sandwiches in their tearooms afterwards, then at 3pm the close family moved back to D's for a while. Feeling fairly tired now, and looking forward to a quiet evening in front of the TV.
