Oh happy days - if you like disasters. Now with pic.

Do you remember my Not Impressed thread?

Well today the plumbers came round to finish the job. Unfortunately it has turned from minor to major.

The leak from the sink drainpipe is because something has chewed a hole in it - about 2 cm/sq!The teeth marks are not small. You might be thinking what the plumbers are thinking. Rats!

But the big problem is.... woodworm! The bathroom floorboards and joists are infected, some to the point where they are powder. Goodness knows where else it could be. The plumber is taking the evidence, of both things, to my landlords.

I might be in for a move whilst the problem is sorted out. :(

Thank you all.

During the summer S and the kids in the flat below were jumping up and down in the kitchen and went through the floor! They had to move out during the fix; I might have mentioned it.

S tells me they had the floor replaced and that some woodworm was treated. L on the other flat diagonally below also had some joists and floorboards replaced and also had woodworm treated. It looks like a known problem and and an inspection is being made on Monday next.

The gnawing of the pipe is looking like a one-off, but Rentokil are coming round to make sure. Nobody else has had any problems.

TBH I do not want anything done before Christmas/NY. The problem must have been there for ages so a few more weeks will not hurt. I can put up with the mess as it is for a while.
