Because you have been talking about it, planning it, picturing yourself elsewhere, for what, two years? three?...

A concrete offer, which allows you to buy where you want to go, is all that's relevant. Nothing to do with what you paid for it.
If this move is what you both want, then you would grab that offer and get on with your new life.

I'm going to ring the other agent later and if they will accept a much lower offer - well, we've had to, why can' they? - then we'll go for it.
