I thought to call in the supermarket while passing.

18 checkouts all operating, six self-serve conveyors all operating, 12 quick checkouts all operating, every one of them with huge queues of trolleys and baskets packed to the rafters and backing up into the shopping aisles.

Have I missed something on the news?

Sounds the sort of shop that is "Not for Me". Maybe everything was half price I have had to change tactics at Lidl and go at 8.30 instead of 8 when there is a lull.

I don't know Frank, but the Quays car park was full, we had to go up the top level to find a space which is most unusual. The shops were packed as we walked through on our way to Correttos Ditto Sainsbury's when we called in afterwards, to get some milk and bread for D
