I was walking down the stairs this morning to help Miss Osc bring in Kellie's stuff when I got distracted and missed the last step, landing in a heap on the floor. I did hear a little click, and immediately felt faint and sick. Mr Osc helped me onto the bed in the spare room till I felt a bit better. This was about 9.15 am. I put on an icepack but by 10am it was very sore and swollen so we decided it would be best to get it xrayed. I ordered a taxi to bring me to the small injuries clinic - it was raining, the taxi man parked a little bit down from the house and didn't even get out to open the door for me even though I had told them about the foot Then he had the heat on and one of those disgusting air fresheners I asked him to turn off the heat, but still felt really ill when I got to the clinic and nauseous for most of the day.
I was seen really quickly, xrayed, and told that when I fell, a ligament must have chipped off a flake of bone, he showed it to me on the xray....there are two other older bits floating around there too So treatment for the time being is a pressure bandage and crutches for 7-10 days, keeping it elevated and iced regularly for the first 48 hours. My sister brought me home, and she also collected Michael from school for us as it was raining. Then it was just us with the children! Mr Osc has been brilliant and the children were very good. So thankful we live on the one level, I can head off to the bathroom on my hands and knees - which Kellie thought was great fun! Feeling a bit sorry for myself, not in pain but it is really sore and I can't take anti- inflammatories, so will have to get by with paracetemol and rubbing arnica cream on it. Early to bed I think as I am exhausted and so is Mr Osc.
