3 day party

Postby tonicha » 26 Oct 2015, 17:46

We've been invited, by friends who live in our village, to a three day party to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.

Both of them are completely bonkers, but lovely, lovely people.

They've organised an apartment block to be rented, for people coming over from England, they've organised three meals out, with all sorts of dafty things going on, they've organised live bands, music after the meals out, and we've been invited to the "special" dinner at The Capri, for only close friends and family. The other nights are bun-fights, by the sound of it

So, if you don't hear from me for a few days next month, don't worry - I'll be booked into rehab somewhere

Gawd they must have something about them to still want to party after 60 years of marriage. How old are they?!

Alan is 78, Nina a year younger.

They have a restaurant down in Cornwall, which their son runs and they go and help out during the summer. The rest of the time, they spend here, either in their apartment in the village or travel around Portugal, in their made up camper van, wild camping.

We were supposed to meet them last month in Ourique, but missed them by a day

Known them for 10 years, love them to bits, but can't keep up    So we're going to one nights entertainment and meal, missing the next and going to the last one.

Gladys won't be able to cope with it all

They may be lovely, but I really struggle to keep up with Nina and her alcohol intake. Can't do it any more

I can't remember the last time I danced

But they have live music two nights, karaoke on one night.

It's a long walk back, from the bar, down near the harbour.

Exactly Saundra, which is why they've done it over 3 days.

I think, by the time the third day is over, even Nina will need a rest - she's such a live wire!
