Mum and dad go home on November 1st which will mean they'll have been here just one day short of 7 weeks.

It's been an absolute brilliant visit..apart from a couple of cruddy days rain they've had wonderful weather.

I went to visit them today and they were both sitting there with grins like Cheshire cats!

They'd just booked the holiday apartment again for the month of April next year! I am so happy!

I'll be booking their flights on Friday when they come over for the day.

Oh it's lovely to hear Ally, it must be great for them to be able to top up with some sunshine just before the winter, and then again in spring to get some warmth again

If it was 10 years ago then yes, my parents would have bought somewhere here. But mum's health (COPD) and then the diagnosis of her enlarged heart made the choice for them in as much as mum felt very safe and well cared for by the NHS.

That is not to say she wouldn't have had the same care and attention out here...but mum (and dad) felt (and feel) as they are 'in the system' in the UK, and given the age they are, they are more than happy with things.

And it makes our time together here in Spain all the more special. xx
