Had an e-mail from Carla last night, saying that the couple are still interested in our house at 165,000

We've already told her that we are not going below 185,000  8-)

We've worked out just how much we can par the asking price down - but then think - why on earth should we?? We like this house, we like our village, we don't have to move, it's just something we'd like to do.

I will reply to her later, with another very reasoned response.

And I will also dig out the contract and see if we can leave early ;)

I'm surprised... does she really think you're that desperate? If yes then she's obviously not really 'getting' you is she and quite clearly more concerned about the buyer than the seller

Saundra

We've had a look at the contract and it's very ambiguous, as these things are.

i think a word with Carla and maybe terminate, if we can and move on................................

Well I had a word with our neighbour, who has a cousin (they all are cousins here   ) who is an estate agent and she is going to take a look-see but neighbour thinks we can get out of it, as I do, by giving 15 days notice.

Cousin will be happy to take us on.   8-)

I also found out about prices of houses sold over the last few years and there is not a hope in wotsits of us selling below 185,00 and even that is really pushing it...................

So now I'm a slightly happier person, have been a nightmare to live with, apparently, over the last couple of weeks, because I'm so peed orf ;)

Humph

We are tied to Carla for the next 5 and a half months. I spoke to a neighbour this afternoon. She's a solicitor and told me off, quite firmly  for having an exclusive contract.

Especially as I showed a family around earlier who do not need to sell anything. Portuguese, from oop north, almost in Spain, want the winter warmth and know our village very well.

He has a camper van, which he wants to park on his property. The only other one, in the entire village, is just up the road and is on the market for 230,000, with one bathroom,

And we know that Carla is open to us doing a deal, as we can tell her we found the buyer, not her ;)
