What's the weather like?

It was beautiful here today, in advance of the arrival of the tail-end of tropical storm Henri. Mrs O and I went for a stroll in the nature reserve and saw tortoiseshell and speckled wood butterflies , and even a late season dragonfly. The sun was warm on our backs. Then we went down the the local Birmingham City Council nurseries and picked up some surplus winter-flowering pansies from there, two big mixed-colour displays for £9.

But the wind has now got up, and it's very much clouded over, and Henri is supposed to bring us torrential rain early this evening.

We had a fair amount of rain, not enough though and the wind is now dropping a little, so all being well, we'll be back to normal tomorrow

Hmmpphhh. It started raining while we were on our way to Southampton and we drove back in it bucketing down

There was a thick autumnal mist this morning, early on Luckily that lifted, but we've had sunshine and showers. Dry enough to walk home from town though, so at least I got some exercise

Absolutely gorgeous here today. first day back from UK

Up at 4a.m. to get bus to Gatwick for 07.40 flight,all boarded and on time,then. 1and a 1/2 hours sat in plane while ground staff attempted to find out why we had1unaccounted for piece of luggage on board. Turned out to be a suitcase that was left off of yesterday's flight

Oh no, infuriating Vic, you could have had that hour and a half in bed!
Glad you're back to sunshine though
