There is research claiming that mosquitoes are attracted to foot odours, it is why ankles and lower legs are most attacked. The solution is to bathe feet in vinegar and wipe moist body areas with a vinegar soaked cloth.

It does work and the vinegar smell, to us, is not long lasting.

Di, have you thought about soaking your clothing in pyrethrum? I did mine before going to Vanuatu on an island with malaria knowing I would be in the jungle at dusk. It worked for me, and I'm a magnet too. I also find detail ointment really really good at a, keeping them away and b, when put on at the first tingle to not have them flare up
Everything happens for a reason

You are too sweet and luscious Ton. :)

Seriously, as it is mostly if not entirely your face I presume it is while sleeping and if you dont have air conditioning in the bedroom I recommend a mosquito net right over the bed. Having lived many years in a malarial mosquito area that is the best way.

I don't have smelly feet
But it could be that mozzies detect some beautiful fragrance that we're unaware of ;)

It's not so much being bitten that's the problem but the reaction; obviously keeping the bites to a minimum is what I always aim to do.
But I do have all the right stuff, and carry the cortisone cream around with me so I can apply it as soon as I'm aware of a bite.
I'm well used to it and in the last 3 or 4 years have only had that one bite that reacted so much but I now also have the super-strength pills in my little army :)
