I know what the agent thought - he's spent all morning sweeping front and back and having a general tidy up

Evening all :D Been a lovely sunny and breezy day here after a wet start....I've been working on my own today (with clinic) as Jan was sent to another store, unusual for a Wednesday but it's been mainly checkups with only minimal dispensing (my bit). I spent an hour helping a very very inspiring lady with cancer. She is fabulous, great SOH, cheerful and 'up'.....we were chatting about everything under the sun and it took her ages to select a frame cos we kept breaking off to chat about something disconnected....what a lady! I still feel really humbled after talking to her...

Watched GBBO tonight....my weekend starts here (off the next two days)

Di that doesn't sound pleasant at all for Bb.....I hope as time passes, it all improves a lot x

Jen if you can stretch to a conservatory with a special roof, that allows it to be cooler in summer and warmer in winter, then do. Even with our double doors wide open and all the windows open, (there are 6 of these at the top) it's very warm in there on sunnier days, yet freezing in winter. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it'll be gorgeous when it's all done.

Di, that all sounds horrid for Bb and very worrying for you both :( ((((((x)))))

I hope your weekend goes well, with your visitors, despite the changes to your plans xxxx

I would agree about the conservatory Gal! Jen, we had a lovely one at our Swindon house, it went the whole width of the house, and was more like a garden room as it was brick-built to halfway up the walls - but half of the time it was either too hot or too cold to use  That special glass, or the special blinds you can get, would have made all the difference!

Thanks all, no it's not very nice, worth it if it succeeds of course.

I lived in a house with one a bit like yours Kaz, it wasn't really a conservatory but the dining room, but the effect of the sun was just the same!
South facing is lovely but not if you're behind lots of glass - much appreciated in March though :)
Bb's mum and dad decided against one for that reason, they were glad they'd waited and not rushed into it.
Once they'd been there a while they realised several of their neighbours barely used theirs, plus it would have made the room behind it much warmer as well.
