Morning Ally, morning everyone

Quite nice here too this morning 8-)

We're off for our stroll, then off shopping.

Back for breakkie then see what the day brings us.

The people who looked at our house last week were next door yesterday, so I've let Carla know and see what she has to say - different agents ;)

Have a good day everyone, hope Bb is getting better daily and Di is feeling okay today too xx

Morning all :D

Not sure what the forecast is for today, it's overcast and a bit drizzly at the moment. It was glorious until lunch time yesterday and then hacked it down for the rest of the day, let's hope it can do things in reverse today. Quite fancy a stroll round the harbour this afternoon.

Be interesting to hear what they thought of next doors house Ton.

Off out shortly with my neighbour for the coffee morning, looking forward to it.

Not much else happening, my head's spinning with bathroom designs etc  Still not sure about a conservatory, the two quotes we've had were vastly different, both local firms so none of the haggling about cost like you get with the likes of Everest and co. Need another couple to get a true picture. A second builder's coming to see us about the possibility of an extension tomorrow evening but until we get some drawings done we won't have a definite cost. Will be interesting to see if he's close to the first builders estimate, at least that way we'll have a better idea of how affordable it would be. No point rushing things, we have to get it right first time, we'll not be able to do any of it again.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Morning all

a rather damp and dreary day here as well Kaz, I think it's the same for most of the country :( Just as well I'm stuck in the office

Ally, I love that Google Doodle - what fun. Enjoy your last day of summer school and then definitely enjoy the break until the 21st!
Jen, can't help much with the conservatories but the one bit I will say is go for as many opening windows as you can. I had a conservatory built in my previous place and I did exactly that which was a god send on really hot days, because those things can get boiling. Another friend had one built a few years back and went for a basic model with minimum opening windows and it's stifling in there in summer because you just can't get a through breeze :D
Saundra, it's been quite windy here as well but it's a fairly warm wind so not all that bad.
Ton, hopefully the people that looked at next door realise that your house is much nicer ;)
Osc, I'm looking forward to GBBO as well tonight. I'm meeting a friend after work but hopefully I'll get home in time

Vibes for those that need and have a lovely day everyone xxxx

Good morning all.

It's not very bright here, but I won't be going out today as I'm
cough. cough, sniff sniffing all the time. These summer cold
seem worse than the winter ones.

Hope you are all O.K.

Morning :)
Rain, rain, rain...tried waiting for it to ease off before taking Minnie out but it didn't, so another day of drenched me, soaking dog - and really cross, my rain jacket leeched red onto my nice white t-shirt  It had been fine, it must be overworked :D
I can't re-proof it while its all wet (outside I mean) so it had better stop one day soon.

Ton I'd love to say everything's tickety-boo but it doesn't work quite like that. He is feeling better in himself. If he'd had the gasball, this would be the first day he wouldn't have had to keep his head on the side, so that brought home it's very early days yet.
What he has is a line across his eye (the level of the airball); below the line is black, above a complete blur. Moving makes the line wave/wobble so coupled with the blurriness makes him feel dizzy/weird.
So he can see more or less ok if he sits still but as soon as he moves it's difficult; it would probably be easier with that eye covered but it's meant to be open, something to do with needing the light and for the eye to 'work'. The surgeon said it would still be blurry by the time we saw him again, so as before we have no way of telling whether it's ok or not, ie whether he'll actually be able to see :?

Determined to get a bit more of my list done today.
My Uncle (Dad's brother), his wife, one of their sons, his daughter and partner are all coming down from Yorkshire on Friday, for the weekend.
They're staying at friend's house at Barton but will be coming here first as I have the key.
The plans for it have gone a bit pear-shaped but the son had booked the time off and arranged a big vehicle for all of them so it would have been silly for them not to come.
Hope you all have a good day
