Kate, please do not write off the whole of the NHS because of one bad experience.

A bone scan is completely different from a cataract operation. It is not invasive, all it does is measure bone mass via low level x-rays. At your age, and you are young in outlook, it will tell you if your bone mass density (BMD) is where it should be.

There are no 'cures' but the results could inform you of how to be safe and not injure yourself.

Thanks Frank, I had one a couple of years ago, I know it is not comparable.. I had cancelled the scan just felt thoroughly fed up with myself, then my oncologists secretary wanted to know why, Gus my daughter kept onto me so I changed my mind.. It's just that like most people we go through crap bad times now and again. I appreciate everyone's support thanks to all xxxxx

By all means ventilate your problems on here Katie. Everyone will always be sympathetic even if unable to help. Medical problems may sometimes get spontaneous remission but ones requiring surgery are not likely to and should be attended to as soon as possible as well as scans and other tests.
The NHS is fine for many things but I do confess to going private for serious matters like my back and knee. xx

Lissie I did no such thing and never would; I've sympathised with your own eye and other problems, and have more than once said how much I admire you for your fitness and stamina especially when you have to look after your husband as well.
I very much appreciated your concern, as I did everyone's, I simply said I didn't understand something you said, that's all.
