... a cloudburst, others call it a monsoon.

Man, that was a good one. Thunder, lightning and rain, lots of rain, heavy rain.

There were rivers either side of the roundabout and the drains could not cope.

We had that here yesterday - a "cloudburst" storm in a narrow band running south east to north west. A mile or so each side of the path of the storm, it was dry. Inside the storm path, it was blimmin wet!!

We had a terrific downpour yesterday, just before lunch. My patio was under water after five minutes and the road outside looked like a running stream! It soon disappeared but wow
